Approaching 70, after decades in a largely sedentary profession, I needed to invest in my health and well-being to fully enjoy retirement. I began working on functional fitness and nutrition with Melissa in January 2024, which was one of the best decisions I have made. We started with basics, which produced remarkable results in stabilizing / strengthening joints, improving posture and balance, increasing lung capacity, and establishing good exercise form. With time, we moved on to full body exercise routines that have significantly increased my strength and overall fitness. Melissa combines extraordinary expertise with individual attention and empathy, she helped me overcome hangups going back to high school PE and develop a new healthier lifestyle. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Before I found Melissa at Adapt Fitness, I thought I just wanted a Pilates reformer class to build strength in a low-impact way after experiencing chronic pain for many years. What I found in Melissa as a pilates instructor / personal trainer / coach (I'm still not sure what to call her!) was so much more and exactly what I really needed!
Melissa is very knowledgeable, caring, and a great listener. She tailors our sessions to my particular needs to meet me where I am, often in real time the moment I walk in. For me, that's looked like getting expert support to better manage & reduce chronic pain flare-ups, to prepare for an upcoming dance festival or performance, or to rebuild strength and endurance overall. Melissa's deep knowledge of body mechanics and her wide repertoire of targeted exercises allow her to address my body's specific needs with precision and care.
She's helped me find movement that is safe, approachable, and beneficial to my body's evolving needs. Beyond physical strength and mobility, Melissa's great about checking in with me about other aspect of my overall health and wellness, taking a more holistic approach which I really appreciate. I’ve worked with Melissa for the last few months and I am in the best shape I’ve been in years. Melissa is incredibly knowledgeable, professional and has a fantastic method that keeps you engaged and allows you to make lasting changes. I particularly enjoy her full-body assessments every 8 weeks (I can see concrete changes every time) and the exercise library she has created for me so I can keep exercising at home.
